In order to test and verify the Ad-hoc sensor networks a test bed has been designed to satisfy the systems need for sensor data input. The focus of the test bed is not on the physically detailed simulation of sensor inputs but rather on the stimulation of the network with diverse and differing information gathered in a highly dynamic urban scenario. For this, VBS2 from Bohemia Interactive Simulation has been chosen as the virtual environment used in this test bed. With its several features and tools for scenario generation, VBS2 allows to generate a dynamic urban scenery in the desired quality. Input to the network is derived not only from virtual imaging sensors (electro-optical/thermal imaging) but also from devices such as sniper detectors, light curtains, NBC-detectors or LIDAR. This paper describes * the architectural concept of the test bed * details of the simulation level of the various sensor types * the data linkage to the network system using a virtual sensor layer
