Abstract:
The focused laser differential interferometer (FLDI) can be used to record density differences at two points with a high degree of temporal resolution. The measurements at the shock tunnel HELM are intended to determine the spectrum of the density distribution in the free-stream of a cone nozzle. In addition, by operating two FLDI beam pairs set up one behind the other in the direction of flow, the velocity of the flow can be calculated by correlating the two signals.
