This paper presents the real-time verification results of a battery cell controller developed for a battery modular multilevel management (BM3) system. This BM3 system will be implemented in an electric powered aircraft in future. The battery controller consists of two components, a main controller and a set of cell controllers. The cell controller software is developed using a process-oriented build tool in MATLAB/Simulink. This tool creates a framework for developers to build the software along DO-178C/DO-331 objectives by providing several automated design and verification jobs designed by considering the DO-178C/DO-331 objectives. The design and simulation verification of the cell controller is already discussed in the preceding papers. This paper is an extension of the research where the right side of the software development V-Model, the real-time verification of the software is discussed. Aim of the research is to compare how the cell controller software developed using the build tool performs in real time on an embedded hardware. The verification results obtained from the hardware-in-the-loop simulation were compared to the normal simulation and were consistent.
