- This thesis examines the political and historical thought of the Austrian writer Stefan Zweig (1881-1942). On the basis of Henning Ottmann's concept of political thought as well as of the modern humanist concept of history, it aims to present Zweig as a palliative thinker who tried to face political extremism and violence with a messianic perspective of hope.
