The present dissertation sets forth the protection of honour for soldiers in Germany and other selected countries. The problem of the protection of honour for soldiers is explained in an exemplary way based on the quotation of Kurt Tucholsky \"Soldiers are murderers\". After a short digression to both the roots and the background of this so-called murderer quotation regarding contemporary history, the constitutional and statutory embodiment of the right of personal honour is focused in the first place. After that, the protection of honour is linked to the individual soldier as a subject of legal protection with respect to his rights and duties in both peacetime and wartime. The relevant jurisdiction enacted to this effect is examined closely. Given the limits set by the jurisdiction for the protection of honour for soldiers in its relation to freedom of opinion, a look is taken into the question whether or not there is need for action for the legislature. Here, the formerly stipulated draft of a new § 109 b of the German Criminal Code with the title \"Defamation of the German armed forces\" will especially be considered. Finally, the implementation of the protection of honour for soldiers in other selected legal systems is examined.
