Abstract:
The photon detection efficiency (PDE) is the basic characteristic of a silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) which needs to be precisely monitored in a running fabrication process. For this purpose a reliable and cost-effective setup with a short cycling time is presented. This setup features a direct determination of the PDE via a histogram of the pulse heights, a calibration of the light source and the possibility to compare different SiPM detectors at one measurement.
