This chapter employs a genre-disrupting strategy through personal responses written in conversational form by contributing authors in response to three questions related to the topic of disruption and intercultural communication. Emerging from these first-person epistemological accounts are political engagement, vulnerability and anger at the current world upheavals. The contributions in this volume engage with disruption in multiple forms, be it in the form of mobilising the notion to address structural inequalities, utilising it to describe the constant state of flux that characterises the discipline, employing it to diagnose a problematic approach to interculturality within specific contexts or to acknowledge wider forms of geopolitical disruption that are antithetical to their own ethical principles. What stands out from this collective chapter is the recurring emphasis on the need to proceed with caution and nuance, the alignment with informed scholarship and the maintenance of academic rigour through evidence-based critique and inquiry.     «
