Abstract:
We study the three-dimensional nature of a toroidal electrothermal microvortex (EMV) by using wavefront deformation particle tracking velocimetry (PTV) developed at the Universität der Bundeswehr München. A cylindrical lens is used in conjunction with a microscope objective lens to create systematic wavefront deformations in the particle images.
