Abstract:
Virtual Field Trips (VFTs) using 360° technologies represent a transformative approach in education, merging accessibility with immersive learning. This study examines a 360° virtual paleontology exhibition developed as a Web VR experience. It focuses on fostering learner engagement and enhancing educational motivation. A mixed-method evaluation involving 20 undergraduate students revealed that the virtual environment significantly exceeded expectations in terms of learner attention and acceptance. The results indicate that VFTs may offer engaging and motivating learning experiences that share similarities with those reported for physical museum visits, though direct comparisons were not part of this study.
